Volvo Car USA – 2023 lineup will be only hybrid or electric
Google built-in on all 2023 modelsMAHWAH, NJ (May 3, 2022) The entire 2023 lineup of Volvo cars in the U.S. will consist of mild hybrid, hybrid or electric vehicles equipped with Google built-in, Volvo Car USA announced today.
With the popular XC90 and XC40 SUVs, as well as the V60 Cross Country, now receiving mild hybrid engines as standard (badged B4, B5, and B6), the Swedish luxury car brand is making good on its sustainability commitment to electrify its full range of vehicles. The effort reflects another step toward offering only pure electric vehicles by 2030 and being carbon neutral by 2040.
Regardless of lifestyle or access to charging, U.S. customers can now find an electrified Volvo car to fit their daily routines. Volvo Cars Awarded the Most 2022 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Awards of Any Manufacturer
Volvo Cars has earned 13 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) award(MAHWAH, N.J.) April 7, 2022: Volvo Cars has earned 13 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Having achieved the highest rating from IIHS for every model tested, including the fully-electric C40 Recharge, Volvo is the most awarded 2022 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ brand as of April 2022.
IIHS awards TSP+ status to vehicles that provide the highest level of safety. Volvo Cars received ten TSP+ awards in February and now three in April, totaling 13 awards for 2022.
Volvo Cars has a long-standing heritage in safety and sustainability. As the automaker looks ahead to a zero-emission future and ambition to be a fully electric car company by 2030, Volvo Cars continues to set the bar in both categories with six electric and plug-in hybrid models being recognized by IIHS.

Volvo Cars acts to mitigate corona virus impact
Primary focus upon the health and safety of all employees.The corona pandemic is now severely affecting Volvo Cars in many ways, in the form of a weakening market, a risk for production disruption as well as concerns for the employees.
The company´s primary focus is the health and safety of all employees. Precautionary measures and travel restrictions have already been taken.
Now, there is a need to further reduce the spread of the virus by going into a period of social distancing. This means production closures, working from home and taking more personal precautions.
The Belgium plant will remain closed until April 5. The Swedish and US plants will be closed between March 26 and April 14.
People working in our offices will generally work from home as of March 26 and working hours will be reduced.
These actions will secure jobs and ensure that Volvo Cars can come back to normal production as soon as it is possible and safe.
